I came to the United States of America on November 16, 1991. By then there were very few Nepali family in the Washington, DC area and not very many people knew about Nepal. Even though; I was licensed attorney in Nepal, I have changed my profession to the multimedia field. I did my 3 years professional videographer and motion pictures editing course and started working as Production Manager at CDR Communications (a full services television production company), at Burke, Virginia. In 1996; I was working as a volunteer to an Indian television, an American asked me "where is Nepal?" and one of my Indian friend answered very quickly that Nepal is part of India. I was very much offended by that. The very same day; I have decided to launch a Nepali television program "Sagarmatha Television", from the nation’s capital of the United States of America, Washington, D. C., which is the "the first Nepali television program ever produced and broadcast outside of (in a abroad) in the Nepalese History", which is also fulfilled my dream to do something which has never been done before in the Nepali history.


I feel it is a great privilege and honor for me to broadcast Sagarmatha Television, a Nepali television program here in America, which airs every Saturday 8:00 AM to 9 AM and Monday 11 AM to 12 Noon; on MHz Networks (MHz Networks reaches 5.6 million homes via direct broadcast and via satellite throughout the United States of America). Sagarmatha Television also can be viewed on www.sagarmathatv.us and www.nepaltvusa.com worldwide. This program will keep you informed about what is happening in Nepal, in the Nepali community and its cultural heritage to the multi-national communities in America and around the world.
