NRNA Delegation meets Prime Minister
An NRNA delegation led by Prof. Surya Subedi, NRNA Advisor called on the Prime Minister Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal to-day and briefed him on the issues raised by the NRNs. The NRNA delegation reiterated its position that the constitution should be drafted and promulgated at the stipulated date. It also raised the issue of dual citizenship. The delegation briefed him that the position of NRNA was that Nepali citizens who have gone abroad and pursuing their career there should not be deprived of Nepali citizenship just because they obtain the citizenship of the country they are living in for their career progress.
Prof Subedi highlighted that the NRNs do understand the concerns that Nepal cannot afford to provide citizenship to foreigners from outside. The Prime Minister thanked the delegation and assured to look on the issue positively.
In the delegation ICC members - Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha, Badri KC, Sonam Lama, NCC UK IPP Dambar Ghale, Vice President Rajesh Acharya, Member Kedar Thapaliya, NCC Russia Treasurer Ranga Nath Paudel, Member Govinda Gautam and NRNA Executive Director Dr. Hemant Dabadi were also present.
